Hello everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great week! I’m writing this a bit earlier from inside our apartment because my companion has been throwing up since three in the morning, so we’re spending all day inside. We’ll have do probably do our shopping tomorrow after our transfer interviews with President Christensen.
On a happier note, we were able to have a “lesson” with our most progressing investigator. On Friday our member dinner fell through and we remembered that our investigator, Anahís, had wanted to feed us at some point but couldn’t due to something I can’t remember. So we called and asked if she would like to feed us, and she said yes. So we went over and had a lesson over dinner. We talked about her reading in the BOM, because we text her chapters to read every day, and she said that not only has she been reading those, but she’s also been read the BOM from the beginning and is currently in 1 Nefí 14! She’s awesome! She really likes everything about the church and loves having us over to learn more.
I also went on back to back exchanges this week. Both times I was outside of our area. So from last Monday evening until Thursday afternoon I was in someone else’s area doing missionary work. That was a fun time:
The first night we had the cops called on our apartment because some of our neighbors were making a bunch of noise and the person thought it was us, so that was a fun ordeal to fix up.
The next morning we made the lady cookies to apologize, because she’s convinced it was us being loud (even though it wasn’t). But home made oatmeal cookies made by four Elders, you can probably imagine how that turned out.
Then on Thursday our entire district (so, ten missionaries) did a surprise service project for someone. This member has four really young kids and a nonmember husband who’s basically never there. So she’s always stressed out and trying to do a bunch of stuff, and her house is always cluttered. So we set up a time with one of her member friends to take her out to lunch for a couple of hours and someone babysat the kids. And then we went in and cleaned her whole house and yard in two hours and then left. That Sister was so happy when she got home and saw her house. She was crying with tears of joy saying stuff like “hay tenemos los milagros de ángeles” and “I just get to sit with my babies, I haven’t been able to do this in forever”. She was super happy, and it was awesome to be a part of that.
Also, we were driving behind an ice cream truck that we’re pretty sure is supposed to say “Katies ice cream” but it definitely says “Cat is ice cream”. I’m not sure what that means, but I don’t want to find out.
That’s my update for this week! Love you all!
