A Good Week

Hey everyone! It’s been an interesting week.

Three days ago we stopped by a referral that we had gotten, so we went in thinking “she’ll want to meet with us, and it’ll be awesome.” Yeah, that didn’t happen. She wasn’t actually interested and a guy that was super high began yelling at us how Jesus prophesied that another prophet would come after him to seal all things, and that prophet was Mohammed. Then he told us that the garden of Eden was in Africa and all people on earth are descended from the Africans.

When we asked him where he got this knowledge he just told us “I don’t know where it is in the Bible, but it’s there. I’m just telling you what I know.” so we just left that contact as soon as we could.

Then, literally three minutes later as we’re biking down the road, a car full of Mexicans stops and yells out to us “hay alguien a quien pueda hablar español?” I was like “yes, I do. My time has come!”.

So it was a nonmember family of four that wanted to come to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints specifically, and the mother wants her kids to be missionaries eventually. So the Spanish missionaries just got an awesome referral.

It was also stake conference this weekend. Elder Crobridge from the seventy came down to preside over it (they were reorganizing the stake presidency). That was cool to be able to listen from him again. It was almost exactly a year ago when he came down for the mission conference. He talked a lot about Ministering (this is the third stake conference about Ministering that I’ve had to sit through).

In one of his talks he pointed out something cool. He said:

Yes, we are the church of Jesus Christ. That’s true, we bear his name. But that’s not the full name. We’re the church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. We are just as much a part of this church as he is. What we do is important. We are to eventually become joint heirs with Christ, and become more like Him and our Heavenly Father.

I thought that was cool. It was an awesome reminder that we are important to the church, no matter what it is that we do to serve it.

Also, we visited a family that is awesome. We are definitely planning on visiting them more in the future.

That’s all I have for now, love you all!
